Couples Therapy — Skills, Tools, or Excavations

*This event will be held in THREE sessions.

In this 3-session mini workshop we will explore how and when to focus on communication skills and attachment styles, and when to go deep into influences of family of origin and historical backgrounds as ways of working with couples. Time permitting we will touch on therapeutic approaches to the topic of affairs and betrayal. The first half of each session will be didactic with the second half reserved for clinical material and case presentations by participants. Class will be on Zoom.

Workshop Goals:

  1. Participants will be able to diagnosis the nature of the couple’s disorder.
  2. Participants will be able to utilize appropriate treatment techniques based on the couple’s disorder.
  3. Participants will develop skills to facilitate the interpersonal healing process of couple’s in treatment
