SIPP’s annual membership drive began in August. Membership dues for the September 1, 2019 – September 1, 2020 year are due at this time.

We hosted our annual Welcome Brunch on Sunday, September 15th. All members, as well as those considering joining our community, were welcomed. Prior to the brunch, we hosted our first membership meeting to welcome all current and new members.

If you are looking for a professional learning community dedicated to fulfilling both the intellectual and collegial needs of its members, we encourage you to become a member of Suffolk Institute for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis (SIPP).

We are a membership-based, professional psychoanalytic learning community that fosters continued exploration of issues relevant to your therapy practice in an inclusive, stimulating and welcoming environment. Our events range from small intimate discussions to short-term courses, colloquiums and conferences which focus on both socially and clinically relevant topics as well as ongoing questions that arise in therapeutic work for both the beginner and the advanced clinician. The SIPP community also has several social gatherings throughout the year which bring us together and foster connections.

**All those who are licensed to practice privately in NYS are eligible for membership.

Why should you become a member?

  • Membership includes attendance to annual colloquiums and two mini courses or workshops (without having to pay the fee for these events) and an invitation to members-only events such as the very popular roundtable, ongoing supervision groups and our popular film discussion.
  • For Licensed Clinical Social Workers, participation in the above events included with membership provides Continuing Education credits.
  • Most of all, you, as a member, will be able to participate in the shaping of your professional learning community. We operate as a town hall democracy and as a member you will have a voice, might launch a new event or introduce a new topic.

If full membership isn’t for you at this time please feel free to attend one of our open events. If you call another organization or institute your residence, we welcome you to join us as well.

For questions please call Lynn Higgins, LCSW at (516) 759-5675 or email [email protected].
